The Atalanta Hospice Society has taken the first steps in establishing a residential style hospice located in Cornwallis Park, a lovely community situated between Annapolis Royal and Digby, in southwest Nova Scotia. Is intended to serve those in need within the County of Digby, Annapolis Royal an Counties of Annapolis and Clare. Named Fundy Hospice, the facility will provide critical services to those requiring end-of-life care; to relieve the stress and financial duress of family members. There is no service of this type in the municipalities at this time.
The Quest for Fundy Hospice is not over and will not be over till the target of $3.5 million has been reached, necessary to build the residential hospice. The five-day Knight Ride covering 250 km in Cornwallis Park has now concluded, but the work continues to raise the necessary capital. We ask for support from our communities, local businesses and corporations to contribute to making this plan become a reality, because without everyone's help, there will be no hospice.
